John's BIOGRAPHY

I started singing around 20 years ago in a local Karaoke Bar
on a Friday night; when I realised and was told that I could sing
pretty well, I began looking for opportunities to express my talent
and growing passion for music which has been hugely influenced
by such legends as Elvis, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison, and
bands Bon-Jovi and U2.

I auditioned for and was successful in playing a variety of roles
from Neil Diamond in “Platinum Vinyl”, King Herod in “Jesus Christ
Superstar”, “Hair” and the romantic lead of Lun Tah in “The King & I”.

My most recent experience and exposure (excuse the pun) in live
theatre has been as the lead role ‘Jerry’ in the highly successful
Levin Performing Arts production of “The Full Monty”.

Prior to returning to the Manawatu area to be closer to family
and friends, I spent many years in the South Island performing
and touring as lead singer with my own band “Red Wine”
playing dance hits of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. My genre was
predominantly Rock/ rock n roll music but I also love
singing pop, soul, ballads and country.

My passion for music has been extended into setting up and
owning this Karaoke business. It is my personal belief that this
country has a lot of untapped musical talent that needs to be
fostered and encouraged and karaoke appeals to all those
aspiring singers and performers within us all.

My Karaoke business is available to provide fun, affordable,
quality musical entertainment for all ages, functions and venues.
